Hello! I'm Jessica, a freelance travel and culture writer from the UK who is generally based between Tokyo and London. I specialise in Asian travel writing with a particular interest in Japan, Korea, and China. I also review books, tv, and films.
I've written articles for publications across the world including The Culture Trip, Fodors Travel, TripSavvy, and Savvy Tokyo. I have over two years of experience as a digital writer and I'm also a successful travel and culture blogger.
Born in Wales, I was raised in an Egyptian household which gave me an early taste for the world outside the UK. After completing an English MA, I was lucky enough to spend four years living across East Asia which allowed me unique insights into Japanese, Chinese, and Korean culture. I've also travelled extensively across Asia and Europe.
During my time in Korea, my website Books and Bao was born which champions culture-based travel and translated literature from around the world. We currently receive 50,000+ readers per month which we've achieved in just under two years.
